Food Technologies
"We Shape the Future with Health"
We see food production not only as a nutritional activity, but also as a strategic area that strengthens public health and supports food supply security. As TÜBİTAK MAM Food Technologies Research Group, we work to develop scientific solutions that support healthy and sustainable living.
Our research spans many areas such as alternative sources and production technologies to support food supply security, age-friendly formulations, functional ingredients, waste utilization and environmentally friendly processes. The scientific outputs obtained from these studies can contribute to both public policies and the R&D activities of the private sector.
It is important for us that our work is not limited to the laboratory. In our research supported by chemical, physical and sensory analyses, we utilize advanced methods such as digestive system models to develop viable solutions and scalable approaches.
Our outputs, such as domestic starter culture development studies and the formulation of foods with functional ingredients, contribute to academic knowledge and provide a scientific basis for current problems faced by the industry. With these licensed solutions, we bring science directly to the consumer through the products on the shelves every day.
With 8 laboratories, 9 pilot production lines and a flexible pilot plant with various food processing equipment, we have a strong research infrastructure. We conduct R&D projects, analysis services and training programs with our experienced, interdisciplinary team of researchers.
We are also the coordinator of the Turkish Food Innovation Platform (TÜGİP) and provide the scientific and technical infrastructure for this organization. Together with a wide network ranging from the public to the private sector, from entrepreneurship to academia, we are working to establish a more productive and accessible innovation environment in the field of food.
The Food Technologies Research Group is a research center that offers knowledge-based solutions to the food sector and focuses on health and food security in line with Turkey's National Technology Movement.
