The Energetic Materials Research Group Laboratories carry out comprehensive R&D activities to research and develop energetic materials and make them suitable for industrial applications. The laboratory has a versatile infrastructure covering the synthesis, physical and chemical characterization, performance tests and safety assessments of energetic materials. In addition, experimental studies for the design and development of new material formulations as well as forming and production processes are carried out within the laboratory. 

Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Laboratories

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Laboratories carry out extensive R&D studies on hydrogen production and the development of fuel cell technologies. The laboratories focus on developing high-performance, robust and scalable systems at MW level by optimizing the processes of splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen with proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers. In the electrolyzer laboratory, new cell and stack designs, electrochemical tests, component and material development and performance tests are carried out; cost reduction studies are carried out with production technologies and membrane-electrode unit (MEA) optimization. 

CBRN Defense Technologies Laboratories

CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Threats) Defense Technologies Laboratories operate to develop protective materials, detection systems and decontamination solutions against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. In this context, the laboratories conduct performance tests of protective suits, masks, filters and other personal protective equipment, and also develop sensors and sensor arrays for the rapid and reliable detection of simulants of chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial substances and volatile organic compounds.

Chemical Process Technologies Laboratories carry out comprehensive research, development and analysis activities to make industrial processes more efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable. The laboratories work with an interdisciplinary perspective in the field of chemistry, materials and process technologies, providing scientific and technological contributions to both industry and academic studies. The laboratories have a wide range of infrastructure and are equipped with modern equipment for sample preparation, wet and instrumental analysis, thermal characterization, chromatographic content determination and advanced materials testing of inorganic and organic materials.

Metallic and Structural Materials Laboratories

The Metallic and Structural Materials Laboratories have a comprehensive infrastructure for the investigation, development and quality control processes of the structural, mechanical and chemical properties of metallic, alloyed and composite materials used in different industrial sectors. In the laboratories, advanced analysis and testing methods are applied to determine the reliability, strength, lifetime and performance of materials at all stages from raw material to final product.

Sensor and System Technologies Laboratories

The Sensor and System Technologies Laboratories have the infrastructure for the design, development and testing of advanced detection, measurement and control systems for various industrial and defense applications. The laboratories develop sensors that can measure physical, chemical and biological parameters with high precision, electronic circuits that integrate these sensors, data acquisition and processing modules. In addition, R&D studies are carried out on wireless communication, embedded software, microcontroller-based control systems and smart monitoring platforms.
