Management Systems Established and Certified in TÜBİTAK MAM

Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2015 Standard

The most well-known and most widely applied standard worldwide among the management system standards published by the International Standards Organization, ISO; ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard. ISO 9001 Standard is not a product standard. It is not a product quality standard. The ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard is also the basis for other quality management systems and can be easily integrated with other management system standards.

The ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard leaves it entirely up to organizations how to create a quality management system. What needs to be done is not a standard quality management system, but a quality management system that meets the requirements of the standard. It is a standard that determines all the methods to be followed in managing the process stages of the organization and requires these methods to be described in the enterprise with a document structure. In this case, organizations applying this standard can certify their systems with ISO 9001 Certificate. At TÜBİTAK MAM, the establishment and certification of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System was realized in 2002 and its continuity has been ensured since 2002.

Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001:2015 Standard

In essence, the Environmental Management System is a management model established on the basis of risk analysis, aiming to reduce the use of natural resources and minimize the damage to soil, water and air. Its key point is its preventive feature. It is based on monitoring and continuous improvement of environmental performance. It stipulates compliance with the conditions defined by the relevant legislation and laws regarding environmental factors.

At TÜBİTAK MAM, the establishment and certification of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System was realized in 2005 and its continuity has been ensured since 2005. With the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, TÜBİTAK MAM identifies and evaluates the environmental impacts arising from its activities, controls significant impacts, continuously improves its environmental performance, primarily reduces waste at its source, recovers waste or disposes of it with licensed companies to prevent environmental pollution and complies with all environmental laws and regulations.

Laboratory Accreditation according to ISO/IEC17025:2017 Standard

TS/EN ISO 17025 is an international standard that describes the general requirements that must be met for a laboratory to be recognized as competent to perform specific tests. It covers the conditions that the laboratory must comply with in order to obtain accurate and reliable results and takes into account the quality of the service provided to the customer by addressing the laboratory service in its entirety in order to meet the customer's needs in a timely, accurate and complete manner.

In TÜBİTAK MAM, ISO/IEC17025 Laboratory Accreditation and Certification was realized in 2001. While the total number of accredited tests in ÇTÜE, EE, GE, GMBE and ME was 21 in 2001, the total number of accredited tests in 2021 is 386.

Standardization and Accreditation of Laboratories Operating in the Halal Field according to OIC/SMIIC 35:2020 Standard

OIC/SMIIC 35:2020 is the 'General Requirements for the Competence of Laboratories Testing in the Halal Field' Standard. Demonstrating the technical competence, impartiality and independence of Halal testing laboratories is an important part of the process for consumer protection against non-conforming products or services. This strengthens confidence in the objectivity of Halal testing laboratories and the accuracy of their results.

Our Molecular Biology Laboratory, which we aim for TÜBİTAK MAM to serve in the field of Halal, successfully completed the audits of the Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK) in 2023 and received Halal Accreditation Certificate within the scope of 'OIC/SMIIC 35:2020 General Requirements Standard for the Competence of Laboratories Conducting Tests in the Field of Halal Compliance'.
