Biotechnology
Biotechnology Research Group consists of 6 research teams: Pharmaceutical Technologies, Vaccine Technologies, Molecular Oncology, Plant Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology and Biomaterials. The Biotechnology Research Group plans and conducts research and development activities in the fields of health, plant and animal biotechnology and biomaterials, taking into account the needs of all stakeholders, including industry, public institutions and universities. In line with the country's priorities, the Biotechnology Research Group works on the production of products that can be transformed into added value for the national economy while seeking solutions to existing problems by using current applications of methods in the field. It also provides analysis and consultancy services to public and private sector organizations.

The Biotechnology Research Group has an interdisciplinary infrastructure that combines different fields such as cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, bioinformatics, biomaterials, immunology, toxicology and genetics. In this way, it can carry out studies in different fields such as disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, studies on biosensor technologies and diagnostic kits, characterization of national plant and animal gene resources, biodiversity. The research group is a pioneer in Turkey in the establishment of research infrastructures in the field of biotechnological drugs and vaccines and in the creation of product-oriented projects in this field.
