Propolis is a substance that worker bees collect from the shoots and buds of plants, resinous substances and plant secretions by making biochemical changes with the enzymes secreted by the glands in their heads, ranging in color from dirty yellow to dark brown and semi-solid at room temperature.

In this product developed within the scope of the DEVELOPMENT OF FUNCTIONAL BEE PRODUCTS Project, the active ingredient (KAFE) content in propolis extract has been standardized according to the Turkish Pharmacopoeia monograph. The product is offered for sale in pharmacies under the brand name "APİTERA PLUS" by BALPARMAK. It is a supplementary food in the form of a throat spray containing propolis for children with non-cytotoxic and antimicrobial activity and the amount of active ingredient standardized according to the Pharmacopoeia. It contains valuable bee products such as propolis, honey, apple cider vinegar and natural raspberry flavor. The product contains no preservatives, added sugar, flavorings and gluten.
