Carbon Dioxide Scavenger Calipatron
About
AYDESorb is a field-proven, high performance and strategic life support product at THS 9 level. The indigenous production of this critical consumable, which directly affects the safety of the crew on platforms such as submarines and determines the duration of the mission, eliminates Turkey's foreign dependency in the fields of defense industry and civil defense and increases its operational assurance. In addition to meeting national needs, the high production capacity also offers significant export potential.
Product Overview
It is a vital life support system component that cleans the ambient air in closed and airless environments such as submarines, bunkers and mines by chemically absorbing carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas, which is released by human respiration and shows toxic effects at high concentrations.

Current Status
It can be actively produced.
Production Capacity
7,500 units per year. This high production capacity confirms that the product is a consumable and that the mass production infrastructure is in place to meet the continuous needs of the Turkish Armed Forces and other potential users.
Technical Capabilities and Capacity
AYDESorb is designed with high efficiency to maintain breathable atmosphere in closed loop air systems.
Working Principle
The cartridge contains a special adsorbent material based on Lithium Hydroxide (LiOH) with high CO₂ holding capacity. When air is passed through the cartridge, CO₂ gas chemically reacts with LiOH and is trapped in the solid phase and thus removed from the environment.
Design Flexibility
Cartridges of various sizes and capacities can be designed to fully adapt to the life support units and operational requirements (number of personnel, mission duration, etc.) of different platforms (e.g. different classes of submarines or bunkers).
- Areas of Use
- Main Area of Use (Defense): Life support systems of submarine platforms. Indispensable for the health of the crew and the execution of long-term underwater missions.
- Civil Defense and Industrial Safety:
- Military and civilian shelters.
- Emergency refuge rooms in mines.
- Closed-circuit rebreathers and emergency escape masks.
