About Us

Within the scope of the activities initiated in 2015 with the support of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Strategy and Budget Directorate and the coordination of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Defense Industry Directorate, design, production and testing infrastructures at international standards for next generation satellite projects have been successfully established at the TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute Photovoltaic Technologies Center. In this context, for the first time in our country, space-qualified solar panels were produced with domestic and national facilities, passed the ground level acceptance tests and were delivered. Launched in 2022, these panels served as the main power source for the İMECE earth observation satellite, and Turkey's capabilities in this field have been demonstrated with concrete achievements with our panels developed for the lunar mission and our 64 space-qualified solar panels currently actively operating in orbit. Our center, which offers strategic, competitive and high value-added solutions with its acquired know-how and trained human resources, continues to cooperate with all stakeholders in line with the goals of reducing Turkey's foreign dependence in space technologies and increasing its export potential.
