In 2019, with the establishment of the Polar Research Institute (TÜBİTAK MAM KARE) within the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Marmara Research Center, an institutional structure was established in the field of polar sciences in Turkey. TÜBİTAK MAM KARE, which undertakes many important tasks from the realization of National Polar Science Expeditions to the conduct of various researches, also plays a leading role in awareness and education activities. In this context, the 4th Polar Festival will be held online on December 19, 2024.
The festival offers a full program with the following rich content:
- Popular Science Interviews with Polar Scientists
- Documentary Screenings
- Paper Presentations on Polar Sciences for K-12 Level
- Project Presentations of Students Ranked in TEKNOFEST TÜBİTAK Polar and Climate Competitions
- Ocean Painting Contest Award Ceremony
- Various Events
Important Note
Only K12 level students and teachers studying in educational institutions in Turkey will be accepted to submit papers on the poles.
Scientific papers of researchers working in research institutions and universities in Turkey or abroad are not included in the scope of the 4th Polar Festival. For such studies, it is recommended to apply to the 9th National Polar Sciences Symposium.
Participation Fee:
The event is free of charge. However, registration with an e-mail address is required between the dates specified in the calendar in order to share the event links.
