TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) is taking a new step in line with Turkey's environmental sustainability goals. Within the scope of the "Turkey Environmental Labeling System (TÇES) Dissemination Project" carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, national criteria are being determined to develop environmentally friendly alternatives in the lubricant product group.

The project aims to develop environmentally friendly lubricants in order to minimize the negative impacts of conventional lubricants on the environment. In line with this goal, life cycle analyses will be carried out in accordance with the TS EN ISO 14044 standard and environmental labeling criteria will be determined as a result of these analyses. TÜBİTAK MAM guides the project with its scientific and technical expertise in this process, providing the scientific infrastructure necessary for the development of environmentally friendly products.

In addition, the project will conduct surveys in cooperation with companies operating in the lubricant sector and test the applicability of these criteria in pilot plants to be selected. These activities of TÜBİTAK MAM are considered as an important step towards the popularization of environmentally friendly products in the market and their preference by consumers. In this way, sustainable production and consumption processes will be supported in Turkey, while at the same time developing environmentally friendly products with high international competitiveness.
