COURSE ORGANIZERS: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatima YÜCEL, Dr. Esin AKÇAEL, İlkay Göksu POLAT (MSc), Göknur Gizem DİNÇ (MSc)

TRAINING DATES: February 19-23, 2024

APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 7, 2024

PURPOSE

Accurate diagnosis is a prerequisite for the prevention of human, animal and plant diseases and the control of various additives and pollutants in the environment, food and defense.

Antibodies are the most specialized reagents used in these fields to detect the presence or absence, quantity or location of specific substances. They are produced with high specificity and affinity against disease agents or markers in humans, animals or plants, or against food and environmental pollutants, enabling the development of effective immunodiagnostic systems.

For 30 years, TÜBİTAK MAM Life Sciences has been producing monoclonal/polyclonal antibodies against various antigens such as plant, animal, food, human pathogens, human proteins and hormones as detection molecules in unique diagnostic systems within the scope of various projects and collaborations and developing test systems based on these antibodies.

The diagnostic market in Turkey is largely foreign-dependent. For this reason, it is aimed to share the knowledge gained in our research group through training programs in order to develop and disseminate antibodies and antibody-based diagnostic systems in our country, which are the basic elements of kits and other diagnostic systems used in the diagnostic market.
