TÜBİTAK MAM Welcomed Millions from 7 to 77 at TEKNOFEST

Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Technology Team Foundation of Turkey, TEKNOFEST brought millions of technology enthusiasts together again at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between April 27 and May 1.

Since 2018, TÜBİTAK, which has been taking part in TEKNOFEST with its races and events, welcomed the participants with various activities and exhibition products in the festival area.

TÜBİTAK MAM, one of the most crowded visitor tent during the event, Fingerprint Detection at the Crime Scene for little researchers who love detective fiction, Instant Earthquake Observations - Turkey Levels - Instant Measurement of Earth Movements with Seismometer to raise awareness about the earthquake disaster, Age Determination with Carbon-14 Analysis for dating the living remains unearthed in archaeological excavations, Application of Different Materials in Microscope for science lovers, Waste Water Activities, Interesting Experiments with Liquid Nitrogen and Potassium Chlorate-Sugar Reaction, Hydrogen and Power Generation from Intermittent Renewable Energy Sources and Fuel Cell Table for those who want to learn educational materials, Noise Barrier, Journey to the Poles with IGLU for those who will visit the poles, Carbon Footprint Measurement, CO2 Sources and Sinks.

2023 BIOTECHNOLOGY INNOVATION COMPETITION AWARD EXCITEMENT

The excitement of TEKNOFEST was also felt in the Biotechnology Innovation Competition. Within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, the fourth Biotechnology Innovation Competition organized by TÜBİTAK MAM was held.

With the participation of high school, associate, undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and doctoral students studying in Turkey and abroad, innovative ideas were produced in different fields of biotechnology, and the contestants made presentations to the juries for 3 days. TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and TÜBİTAK Vice President and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil also visited the stands and received information about the projects.

On the last day of the competition, young people received their jury special presentation awards from the hands of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.

Minister Varank, who chatted with young people, also gave a good news when he announced the award winners. Varank increased the financial rewards to be received by the first, second and third teams, and announced that the students who will receive the jury's special presentation award will also receive a cash prize of 25 thousand liras each.

Axolotl Team, Sütçü Brothers Team, SARS-Cov-AR-58 teams from the Idea Category, Cross-Kingdom, BioHydroBattery, CHEMOtearPY from the University and Above Idea Category, Prot-On, Agrinovation and Humikro teams from the University and Above Project Category received their awards from TEKNOFEST Board of Directors and T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil. BIOTECHNOLOGY and INNOVATION COMPETITION

TEKNOFEST Biotechnology Innovation Competition was organized in three categories: "University and Above Project Category", "University and Above Idea Category" and "High School Idea Category". In the Idea Category, teams presented their original works and theories in the field of biotechnology.

In the Project Category, teams exhibited their work in the field of biotechnology by transforming it into a prototype product.

In addition to the students' project presentations, informative seminars were given to the students by valuable experts in their fields.

The festival, which has been organized for 6 years for a Turkey that develops technology with the vision of the National Technology Move, was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
