The design, development, testing and production of space-qualified solar panels that will meet the high reliability requirements of the Spacecraft being designed for the "Lunar Research Program-1" within the National Space Program prepared by the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) will be carried out by the Photovoltaic Technologies Center of TÜBİTAK MAM, Materials Technologies Vice Presidency.
The fixed solar panels to be produced will be located on both the +X and -X surfaces of the vehicle. Thus, one of these panels will be able to generate power continuously.
The space-qualified solar panels to be developed within the scope of the project in question will provide more and more detailed information about the relevant system depending on the orbit by providing history in deep space and providing telemetry throughout the mission life.
In particular, since the lunar orbit as a mission environment is a space environment with challenging environmental conditions compared to GEO and LEO, the space-qualified solar panels being developed within our organization are provided with telemetry to gain history and functionality in lunar orbit.
- Increasing reliability in the national and international framework (according to GEO and LEO),
- Considering the project duration and test costs in ground level tests with testing in a real environment; to reduce the duration and cost of projects,
- For the benefit of the country on the international platform; it will have an impact on the competitiveness of the equipment/systems developed on the international platform, minimizing foreign dependency, and added value on manpower, scientific and economic basis.
With the knowledge and experience to be gained, we will be proud to take part in the AYAP-2 program with our space-qualified solar panels to be developed with domestic and national facilities for the satellite and landing vehicle.
