The Directorate of the Joint Warfare Institute within the Ministry of National Defense, National Defense University visited TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus on 20 December 2022.
The meeting held within the scope of the visit was attended by Rear Admiral Selçuk Akarı, Director of the National Defense University Joint Warfare Institute, and the accompanying delegation, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, Vice President of TÜBİTAK and President of TÜBİTAK MAM, senior executives and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.
In his opening speech, Yozgatlıgil said: "Our institution has an important place in mobilizing the potential of our country by making a significant contribution to the material and moral development of our country and develops critical technologies that will contribute to increasing R&D and technology competence. It carries out studies in areas such as alternative food sources, medical biotechnology, CBRN defense technologies, climate change and water resources management and the development of critical materials that our country needs in the field of materials."
Dr. Osman Okur, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Technologies, and Ömer Faruk Aydın, Business Development Officer at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, made informative presentations on their fields of work, products and competencies.
Following the opening speeches and presentations, Rear Admiral Selçuk Akarı, Director of the National Defense University Joint Warfare Institute, and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, President of TÜBİTAK MAM, exchanged gifts.
The Biological Chemical National Test Center (BKTM), High Temperature Materials Research, Development and Repair Center of Excellence, Underwater Acoustic Laboratory (SAL), Energetic Materials Laboratory, Kalipatron Production Facility, Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Laboratory within TÜBİTAK MAM and the High Power Laser System, Antenna Test Research Center (ATAM), Mine and Improvised Explosive Measures and Test Research Laboratory (MEKTAM) within TÜBİTAK BİLGEM were visited.
Subsequently, the Hannibal Monument in TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus was visited and information was given about Hannibal's life.
