TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) participated in the 9th OIC Halal Expo & World Halal Summit on November 24-28, Turkchem Eurasia 2022 on November 24-27 and ENTECH - Sustainability and Zero Waste Fair & Congress on November 23-26.
On November 23rd, the "Science and Technology Based Green Growth" Panel was organized as part of the ENTECH exhibition. The panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK.
The panel consisted of Dr. Veysel Yayan, Secretary General of the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TÇÜD); Volkan Bozay, CEO of the Turkish Cement Industrialists' Association (TÜRKÇİMENTO); Dr. Derya Erçıkan, Board Member of the Turkish Chemical Manufacturers' Association (TKSD) and Technical Committee Member of the European Chemical Industries Council (CEFIC); Prof. Dr. Nilgün Cılız, Director of the Sustainable Development and Cleaner Production Center at Boğaziçi University; and Hande Alpaslan, Head of Science, Technology and Innovation Policies Department at TÜBİTAK.
In addition, a presentation titled Green Transformation was made by Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK.
Hybrid Cavitation Reactor by TÜBİTAK MAM, pectin obtained from apple peels, pectin obtained from sugar beet pulp, galactooligosaccharide (GOS) products from whey were exhibited at the fair where visitors showed great interest. Information was given about the zero waste concept and the studies on marine litter and coastal litter.
Zero Waste Concept in Solid Waste Management, LOUISE Low-Cost CO2 Capture By Chemical Looping Combustion Of Waste-Derived Fuels Project, Assessments on Coastal Garbage and Microplastic Pollution in Coastal Areas of Our Country, Management of Wastes in Zero Waste Concept, Dissolved Oxygen with Water Safety Early Warning System and SAIS Cabinet presentations were made by TÜBİTAK MAM Researchers and leading brands of the sector.
International Chemical Industry Fairs Turkchem Eurasia 2022 and HALAL EXPO, which started simultaneously at the Istanbul Expo Center, were also met with great interest by sector representatives.
TÜBİTAK MAM participated in TURKCHEM, "9th International Specialty, Specific Chemicals, General Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Laboratory, Measurement Instruments, Process and Automation Industry, Packaging, Recycling and Environmental Technologies Fair" with Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate Active Ingredient, HES Anti-Corrosion Coating, Photopolymer 3D and High Performance Polymer Resin Systems. In addition, the studies carried out at the Marmara Research Center with the chemical industry were shared with the participants. Possible collaborations and projects were exchanged with the companies.
At the 9th OIC Halal Expo & World Halal Summit, we took our place with our local products and test materials representing our country in the field of food. Many companies from Asia, Europe and Africa participated in the fair, where halal products were of great interest due to their processing and hygiene standards.
This year's World Halal Summit was organized under the motto "For Sustainable Trade: Explore the Development of the Global Halal Industry in all aspects" at the World Halal Summit; Reference Materials and Qualification Test Materials for Halal Certification, Sensitive Porcine DNA Detection Technology, Plant Specific Sugar Beet and Sugar Cane Gene Screening Technology, Offal and Foreign Tissue Detection Kit in Bovine Products, Gelatin Substitute Modified Starch, Apple Pectin, exhibited by TÜBİTAK MAM, Information was given about Immune System Supporting and Antiviral-Antibacterial Products, Throat Spray with Propolis, Protective Lozenges/Chewable Tablets against SARS-COV-2 Virus, Resistant Starch, Plant Extracts, Anti-Diabetic Food Supplements, Instant Tea, Natural Antioxidants from Rosemary and Prebiotic Food Supplement Galactooligosaccharide (GOS) products.
