The first phase of the TIMES-MACRO Model Training organized as one of the requirements of the "Preparation of National Communications on Climate Change Project" was held on 11-12 August 2014 at the Faculty of Engineering, Boğaziçi University. The training was realized with a total of 20 participants, 4 from TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute (ÇTÜE), 5 from Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, 1 from Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and 10 from Boğaziçi University.

The training was delivered by Gary A. Goldstein from DecisionWare Group, which provides model development and policy analysis services in energy system planning. The two-day training covered introduction to energy modeling, basic approaches and applications, basic methodology of the Times model and model setup. The second phase of the training is planned to be held at the end of September 2014.
