PRO-METROFOOD International Symposium on "Metrology, authenticity and traceability of raw materials and products" was organized on 01 October 2017 in cooperation with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), the Hellenic Center for Research and Technology (CERTH), the Institute of Applied Biological Sciences (INAB) and the Greek Institute of Metrology (EIM).
During the symposium, the work carried out under the PRO-METROFOOD project was presented during the poster session. In addition, with the participation of ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures), relevant Ministries and representatives of different stakeholders, a round table on "Research Infrastructures in the Agri-Food and Nutrition Sector at National, European Union and Global Level: Current Situation and Future" was organized. The symposium and round tables were organized as a preliminary activity of the "3rd IMEKOFOODS International Conference".
The 3rd General Assembly Meeting of PRO-METROFOOD project was held on 30.09.2017. During the meeting, information was given about the work carried out within the scope of the project and the "ESFRI Roadmap 2018", which was applied as a continuation of the project. The application for the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures Roadmap 2018 (ESFRI Roadmap 2018) was made on 30.08.2017 to move the METROFOOD project from "High Priority Project" to "Active Project".
Within the scope of PRO-METROFOOD project, the training on "Metrology in Food and Nutrition" was organized at the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources, Czech University of Life Sciences (CULS), Prague on 19-23.06.2017. In the organization where two researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute received training, our researchers Dr. Hayrettin Özer and Dr. Aytunga Arık Kibar gave training on "Internal and external quality control activities in food analysis laboratories" and "Differential scanning calorimetry as an effective tool for determining authenticity in foods".
