Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü started his speech at the opening ceremony by wishing the factory to bring blessings to Konya and the country: Konya, home to Turkey's first science center supported by TÜBİTAK, is a city that makes a difference in areas such as machinery manufacturing, agricultural machinery, automotive sub-industry, food, metal casting, shoe manufacturing industry. All these figures tell us that Konya will grow and develop irreversibly and lead Turkey in many fields. The enzyme-resistant starch factory is the best example of the coordination of science and entrepreneurship." Stating that Turkey continues to grow with all its cities and sectors, Faruk Özlü said, "We will continue to support everything that is national and domestic in science, technology and industry. Turkey continues to grow with all its cities and sectors. We will continue to support everything that is national and domestic in science, technology and industry."
"It will contribute to the fight against obesity and diabetes"
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor of Konya Yakup Canbolat stated that the facilities will make a significant contribution to the fight against obesity and diabetes:
"Our province is in a continuous development with the investments made by both the state and the private sector. Our entrepreneurs, who comprehend the conditions of global competition very well, can compete anywhere in the world with the goods and services they produce. Industrial facilities fulfill an important function in terms of creating wide employment opportunities, developing entrepreneurial capability and directing capital savings to investments. With a world population of 7.5 billion and growing, the food sector has become a vital and indispensable sector in order to meet increasing needs. It should not be forgotten that the compensation of one food product can only be compensated by another food product. As a result of the agreement made by Demirpolat Group of Companies with TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Turkey's first enzyme-resistant starch production facilities have been brought to our country, which is an extremely important development in terms of food. It will also contribute significantly to the fight against obesity and diabetes."
Stating that they have established Turkey's first enzyme-resistant starch plant, Nurettin Demirpolat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Demirpolat Group of Companies, said: "Soil is a blessing that is not ungrateful to those living on it. Therefore, it is necessary to be friends with the soil. We have chosen to be friends with the soil that we will meet after an unknown number of years. We have put wheat, one of the most beautiful crops produced by it, at the center of our lives. Today, we are concerned with how we can benefit from wheat, that is, flour. We are thinking about how we can be more beneficial to our people, our country and the world. We are trying to introduce Turkish wheat to the world by producing more value-added products and increasing our exports.
The facility we have inaugurated is a product of this idea. Our facility produces a mixture for people on the edge of hunger. More than making money, we want to reach people in the remotest corners of Africa. The conveniences brought by living conditions and technology have a negative impact on our health. For this reason, we tried to make the flour we consume more qualified and took over the enzyme-resistant starch license developed in the laboratories of the TUBITAK Marmara Research Center Food Institute. With our own means, we transferred the project developed in the laboratory environment to the industrial environment and established Turkey's first enzyme-resistant starch facility. From today onwards, our aim is to be beneficial to humanity. In the near future, we plan to introduce the most natural baby food."
License transfer from TÜBİTAK
Nuh Yılmaz, Business Development Manager of TÜBİTAK MAM, said in his speech, "TÜBİTAK MAM, which controls the desire to eat by giving a feeling of satiety and is newly recognized worldwide resistant starchThe development of TÜBİTAK MAM in our Food Institute is an extremely important step. It is very pleasing that these and similar products of critical importance are both produced with domestic facilities and commercialized in order to contribute to public health and the national economy. With the introduction of resistant starch in production, an important step will be taken in the fight against obesity, heart and diabetes. Insulin resistance will be affected and the risk of diabetes and heart diseases will be reduced accordingly. Moreover, it can be easily consumed not only by diabetics and dieters, but also by all consumers."
