National Polar Science Workshop and Polar Festival
In 2019, with the establishment of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey Marmara Research Center Polar Research Institute (TÜBİTAK MAM KARE), a scientific organization structure that will serve as an institutional roof in our country was put into practice. From the implementation of the 2018 - 2022 National Polar Science Program to the execution of Scientific Polar Expeditions, the Fifth National Polar Science Workshop is planned to be held on November 30, 2021 at Gebze Technical University Congress Center and the Second Polar Festival is planned to be held on December 1, 2021 at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus.
In addition, a climate panel will be organized at the Workshop, where the natural disasters facing our country and the whole world will be evaluated and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report published in August 2021 will be discussed.
