The studies carried out by our country on the Polar Regions were placed under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey in 2017 and gained momentum from this point onwards. Starting with the First National Antarctic Science Expedition organized in 2017, the National Polar Science Expeditions continued with a total of 5 expeditions, 4 Antarctic and 1 Arctic.

Coordination, information and training meetings are organized for all Expedition Participants before the National Polar Science Expeditions. During the trainings, the relevant infrastructure and equipment are utilized and the participants are expected to gain experience about the environment they will be in during the expedition. In line with these objectives, in order to make the scope and details of the trainings permanent and to share the knowledge, the National Polar Science Expeditions Training Book has been prepared by the experts in their fields, whose names are listed below.

The National Polar Science Expeditions Training Book contains information that can be used not only in the Polar Regions, but also in daily life and can be applied during emergencies. This book, which was prepared to ensure the safety and security of the participants at the maximum level in the Polar Expeditions to be organized, is aimed to contribute to the studies that our country will carry out in the Polar Regions.
