Efforts to determine the number of companies operating in the field of biotechnology in our country and to create official statistics on biotechnology in the following period were initiated under the coordination of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. In this context;

- Carrying out activities/projects in accordance with the OECD definition of "biotechnology" as "the modification of living or non-living organisms for the accumulation of knowledge and the production of products and services; the application of science and technology to living organisms and their parts, products and models",

- with the word "biotechnology" in the name
