Signing Ceremony of Water Quality Project in Marmara Basin was held between General Directorate of DSİ and TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM).
The Signing Ceremony of the Water Quality Monitoring in Marmara Basin and Capacity Building Project of DSI between TÜBİTAK MAM and General Directorate of DSI was held on February 11, 2020 at General Directorate of DSI with the participation of Nazmi Kağnıcıoğlu, Head of Department of Studies, Plans and Allocations of DSI, Ahmet Özbek, Fatih Ekmekçi and Burhan Yavuz, Deputy Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgen Ercan, Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Clean Production Institute, Dr. Oltan Canlı, Project Coordinator.
The project aims to monitor water quality in the Marmara Basin within the framework of the Basin Monitoring Program prepared in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulation on the Monitoring of Surface and Groundwater" and to evaluate all data obtained according to the relevant legislation.
Within the framework of the Basin Monitoring Program prepared in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulation on the Monitoring of Surface and Ground Waters" in the Marmara Basin, the project includes sampling from surveillance (preliminary) monitoring and protected area monitoring points, measurement and analysis of the requested parameters in accordance with national legislation in rivers, lakes, transitional and coastal waters, The scope of the project includes the evaluation and reporting of all monitoring results in accordance with the relevant legislation, entering them into the DSİ SVT-Water Quality Module with their coordinates on basin basis, and ensuring the transfer of data to this system via SVT (Water Database) in case the "National Water Information System" has been commissioned.
