Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Dr. Hasan Aydınlık visited TÜBİTAK MAM on February 24, 2020.

MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Director of the Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemical Technology Assoc. Dr. Şerife Sarıoğlan and Chief Researcher Dr. Jülide Köroğlu were present at the meeting, where MAM projects and fields of study were presented.

During the visit, MAM President Mr. Kılıçaslan expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of the "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Production Incentive" project prepared by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of its work on eco-tourism.

He stated that within the scope of TÜBİTAK MAM's Traditional Herbal Medicinal Product project, the formulation of the drug obtained from the root of "Ruscus Aculeatus", or enir or rabbit apple plant in Anatolia, to be used effectively in venous circulation disorders has been completed and validation and registration studies are continuing. In this context, he said that we are ready to cooperate with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality with the infrastructure and qualified human resources of MAM Institutes.

Mr. Aydınlık emphasized the importance of linking the working areas of MAM Institutes with the dynamics of the city and stated that it is possible to work in harmony.

MAM Centers of Excellence and Institute Laboratories were visited.
