With the Indigenous Design and Production of Hydroelectric Power Plant Components (MİLHES), a new era begins for Turkey's hydroelectric power plants.
The Energy Institute of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), which has taken an important step towards bringing design and production capabilities for hydroelectric power plant technologies to our country, secures Turkey's independence in this field. Thanks to this technological breakthrough achieved as a result of 5 years of work by 60 engineers from 4 different organizations, the francis turbine, synchronous generator, speed regulator, warning system, control and protection systems and all other auxiliary components of the national hydroelectric power plant, which Turkey has needed for many years, were commissioned in the 11 MVA installed power unit of the KEPEZ-1 hydroelectric power plant.
Devam projesi ile Sarıyar HES’te 44 MVA kurulu güce sahip 4 ünite yenilenerek, 100 MVA güçte üniteler de yerli olanaklarla devreye alınabilecek; böylece inşaatına henüz başlanmamış olan 16 GW HES (*) için 20 Milyar Dolar HES yatırımının %30‘u elektromekanik sistemler (**) ve ilave rehabilitasyon ihtiyaçları toplamı olan 7,5 Milyar Doları tamamen yerlileştirmenin yolu açılacaktır.
