General Information About Köklüce HEPP

Located in Niksar district of Tokat province, Köklüce Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) consists of 2 units (total 90 MW) with a capacity of 45 MW. Köklüce HEPP was commissioned in 1988 and continued its operations until October 2013. It was decided to update some of the critical equipment of the power plant, which is under the responsibility of Electricity Generation Corporation (EÜAŞ), and the "Köklüce HEPP Warning and Protection Systems Rehabilitation Project" was signed between EÜAŞ and TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on 17.03.2014. The design, production, field installation, testing and commissioning processes of the systems rehabilitated within the scope of the project were carried out by the expert engineers and technicians of TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute with domestic facilities.

On 24.12.2015, the following activities were carried out within the scope of the project whose provisional acceptance was completed:

- Warning system and automatic voltage regulator (Units 1 and 2)
