Prof. Julius Nyabundi, Rector of Maseno University, Prof. Erastus Njoka, Rector of Chuka University, Prof. Stephen Agong, Rector of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, Prof. Stephen Agong, Rector of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, and Mr. Shiroya Lukes, Deputy Minister of Education of Kenya, under the chairmanship of H.E. Simon Nabukwesi, Chief Secretary of the State Department of University Education and Research under the Ministry of Education of Kenya, visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on August 12, 2021.

Welcomed by TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, Kenyan Ambassador H.E. Simon Nabukwesi and the accompanying delegation met for lunch with the participation of TÜBİTAK MAM GMBE Director Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin, TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun Karan and TÜBİTAK MAM GE Deputy Director Sena Saklar Ayyıldız.

Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM, informed the Kenyan delegation about TÜBİTAK MAM's strong infrastructure and products at world standards and emphasized the importance of possible working areas. It was stated that TÜBİTAK MAM is open to cooperation.

Subsequently, the Ambassador of Kenya H. E. Simon Nabukwesi and the accompanying delegation visited the Biodegradable Waste Recovery Laboratory, Water Safety and Dissolved Oxygen Laboratory at the TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Environment and Cleaner Production (EITP), the Molecular Plant Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory at the TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology (GMBE) and the Food Pilot Plant at the TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute (GE).E. Simon Nabukwesi and the accompanying delegation were given on-site information about the work carried out and the products and infrastructure of the Institutes.
