The studies carried out within the scope of the "Basin Protection Plan and Special Provision Determination Project for Karacaören I&II Dam Lake and Beyşehir Lake, which are used as Drinking and Potable Water Source" carried out by the Environment and Clean Production Institute of our Center have been completed. The objectives of the project are to prepare Basin Protection Plans by considering the protection-utilization balance of the drinking water source and to establish special provisions for current/future uses based on scientific data. In this context; in order to improve the existing water quality and ensure sustainable use; basin-specific protection belts based on GIS technologies and mathematical model, in line with development targets, were determined, and the necessary technical principles and implementation provisions were determined. Beyşehir Lake Special Provisions studies were presented to the participants at the project closing meetings held in Konya on December 8, 2014 and Karacaören 1-2 Dam Lakes Special Provisions studies were presented to the participants at the project closing meetings held in Isparta on December 9, 2014.

Within the scope of the project, water quality determination and modeling studies in basins, wastewater infrastructure planning and determination of discharge standards, geology, hydrogeology and determination of groundwater quality, fishing activities, etc. were explained in detail. The main outputs of the project, "Beyşehir Lake special provisions and basin management plan" and "Karacaören I&II Dam Lakes special provisions and basin management plan" were discussed in detail with the opinions and suggestions of the participants. Participants were informed about the work to be done to improve and protect the existing water quality of the lakes.
