China National Natural Science Fund (NSFC) visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on September 6, 2023.

The meeting held within the scope of the visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Song Jiang, Vice President of NSFC, Dr. Mert Akel, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Technologies, Prof. Dr. Yongjun Chen, Deputy Director of NSFC Interdisciplinary Sciences Department, Jie Shen, NSFC Program Officer and Yusuf Kılıç, Chief Specialist from TÜBİTAK MAM Strategy and Business Development Directorate.

During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was made by Yusuf Kılıç, Chief Expert. In the presentation, he provided detailed information about TÜBİTAK MAM's wide range of products and services, activities and rich infrastructure, and explained the capabilities of the organization to the participants. In his presentation, Kılıç emphasized TÜBİTAK MAM's leadership and innovative work in the field of science and technology and demonstrated the potential for further cooperation opportunities.

After the presentation, the Center for Photovoltaic Technologies, Coal and Biomass Combustion and Gasification Pilot Plant, Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Bioelectronics Center of Excellence and Organic Chemistry Research Laboratory were visited and the NSFC delegation was informed about the work carried out.

This visit goes beyond basic research to include technological developments with the goal of innovation, opening the door to promising projects for the future.

The cooperation between TÜBİTAK and NSFC started in 2019 and joint calls have been opened since then. Cooperation was realized in the field of Polar Sciences.

It was stated that the main tasks of NSFC include funding innovative research projects, developing scientific capabilities, supporting basic sciences and developing applied science, and in this framework, it is committed to strengthening cooperation with TÜBİTAK MAM in the field of science and technology.

This visit will foster strong cooperation in the fields of science and technology and pave the way for scientific discoveries and technological advancements at the international level.
