Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mr. Oruç Baba İnan visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on August 18, 2023.
Oruç Baba İnan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK, Dr. İsmail Doğan, Vice President of TÜBİTAK, Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, President of TÜBİTAK MAM and TORKU delegation attended the program held at TÜBİTAK MAM Conference Hall. Experts and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM also took part in the program.
Yusuf Kılıç, Chief Expert from TÜBİTAK MAM Strategy and Business Development Directorate, made a presentation on TÜBİTAK MAM's infrastructures, activities, products, international projects and potential areas of cooperation. During the presentation, TÜBİTAK MAM's rich infrastructures, dynamic activities and pioneering products were introduced. Kılıç provided participants with comprehensive information on TÜBİTAK MAM's scientific and technological capabilities, laboratory infrastructure and research opportunities. He also provided information about TÜBİTAK MAM's product portfolio and emphasized its role in the development of innovative products in the industry. The successful projects carried out by TÜBİTAK MAM in the international arena and potential future cooperation areas were also shared with the participants.
Afterwards, Dr. İncinur Hasbay, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM Life Sciences and Leader of the Food Innovation Technologies Research Group, gave a comprehensive presentation on important technology and innovation activities carried out at various stages of the value chain in the food sector. A TUGIP introductory video was screened, including introductory information on the Turkey Food Innovation Platform and its technology and innovation services. Integration of technologies into food products, ensuring food safety from farm to fork, development of new food products and production methods, research on functional foods and formulations. Details about TÜBİTAK MAM's work and projects in the field of food were shared. Cooperation opportunities and potential cooperation issues were also discussed as part of the presentation.
Following the presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selma Onarıcı, Leader of the Industrial Biotechnology Research Group of the Vice Presidency of Life Sciences at TÜBİTAK MAM, shared in detail the areas of work and collaboration opportunities in the fields of plant and animal technology. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onarıcı emphasized TÜBİTAK MAM's strong expertise and capacity in the field of plant and animal biotechnology, as well as its willingness to cooperate, further enriching the potential for collaboration in this field.
After the end of the meeting, the participants visited the Food Innovation Center of the Turkey Food Innovation Platform. During this special tour, participants were provided with a comprehensive experience by explaining the state-of-the-art work carried out on food production lines.
