TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, Director of the Institute of Environment and Cleaner Production Dr. Selma Ayaz and the accompanying delegation visited Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan in his office on January 31, 2020.

Mr. Alpaslan was informed about the technical capabilities of the R/V TÜBİTAK MARMARA Research Ship and evaluations were made on possible studies. The capabilities and capabilities of R/V TÜBİTAK MARMARA, which is designed as an oceanographic ship, were explained in line with the needs of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the field of underwater archaeology by considering the multi-purpose usage possibilities.

In particular, issues such as conducting marine studies in areas with tourism potential and forbidden diving areas where underwater scientific archaeological studies are foreseen to be carried out and the inventory of underwater wrecks were evaluated.
