The Köklüce Hydroelectric Power Plant of Electricity Generation Co. (EÜAŞ) located in Tokat province was rehabilitated by TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute and handed over to EÜAŞ on February 11, 2016. Mr. Cevdet Can, Governor of Tokat, and Mr. Gaziosmanpaşa Energy Institute visited the plant on February 11, 2016 to see the works on site and to get information. Dr. Abdulkadir Balıkçı, Head of EÜAŞ HEPP Department Ergin Erayman, Niksar District Governor Mr. Mr. Selami Kapankaya, Almus District Governor Mr. Fatih Çelikkaya, Mayor of Niksar, Mr. Mr. Özdilek Özcan, Almus Mayor Mr. A technical visit to Köklüce HEPP was organized on March 10, 2016 with the participation of Hasan Hüseyin Arıkan.

During the technical visit, firstly Almus - Köklüce HEPP Operation Manager Mr. Mr. İbrahim Demir gave general information about the plant to the participants. Afterwards, Dr. Balıkçı gave information about the work of the TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute and thanked EÜAŞ for the cooperation and emphasized that they would like to do greater works together with EÜAŞ. After Dr. Balıkçı, the project manager, Eng. Coşkun Aziz Türkmen made a detailed presentation about Köklüce HEPP Rehabilitation Project. At the end of the presentations, Mr. Nurettin Kulalı, Deputy General Manager of EÜAŞ. At the end of the presentations, Mr. Nurettin Kulalı, Deputy General Manager of EÜAŞ, expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out with the TÜBİTAK team and was presented with a plaque by Mr. Arif Koyuncu, Secretary General of TÜBİTAK. Mr. Arif Koyuncu, Secretary General of TUBITAK, presented him with a plaque. Afterwards, the Governor of Tokat, Mr. Cevdet Can and the accompanying delegation toured the power plant and received detailed information about the work carried out.

Ülkemiz elektrik enerjisinin %25’i hidroelektrik kaynaklardan elde edilmektedir. Bu manada hidroelektrik santral bileşenlerinin yerli imkânlarla tasarlanarak üretilmesi ve dolayısıyla enerji alanında dışa bağımlılığın azaltılması son derece önemlidir. Köklüce HES Rehabilitasyon projesi de bu kapsamda büyük önem taşımaktadır. Proje kapsamında tasarlanıp üretilen güncel teknolojiye sahip senkron jeneratör ikaz sistemleri, son yıllara kadar ithal edilen bir teknoloji olup Türkiye’de ilk defa TÜBİTAK MAM Enerji Enstitüsü tarafından tasarlanıp üretilmiştir. İkaz sistemlerine ek olarak, jeneratör koruma ve senkronizasyon sistemleri, jeneratör çıkış ve nötr hücreleri, akım – gerilim ölçü trafoları ile güç trafoları da proje kapsamında yenilenmiştir.
