Okay Kılıç, Deputy Director General for Maritime and Inland Waterways Regulation of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications (MoTMC), Nihat Asan, Head of Department and the accompanying delegation visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on 24 May 2016.
The delegation was welcomed by the managers and representatives of the TÜBİTAK MAM Business Development Unit and the Environment and Cleaner Production Institute (ÇTÜE) and the topic of "Measurement of emissions from ships within the scope of MARPOL Annex-VI" was discussed intensively.
TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE Director Dr. Selma Ayaz gave detailed information about the work of the institute and the institute laboratories were visited and possible projects were discussed. The technical support requested from ÇTÜE for the laboratory they plan to develop at the Oil Pollution-Emergency Response Center established by the MoTMC in Tekirdağ was discussed. In addition, the issues of providing a letter of support by our Center during the tender process of the "Capacity Building Project for Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change on the Maritime-Shipping Industry", which is planned to be supported by the International Maritime Organization and for which an application has been made, were discussed.
