Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, accompanied by Deputy Undersecretary Prof. Dr. Cevahir Uzkurt, TÜBİTAK MAM President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahadır Tunaboylu, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM President Assoc. Dr. Haci Ali Mantar, GTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, General Director of Industrial Zones Yaşar Öztürk and other executives, visited Vestel Factory production facilities on August 4, 2015 as part of the Manisa program.
Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, received information about the works from Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, Chairman of Zorlu Holding.
Minister Işık said that during his visit to Manisa last year, he had seen how Vestel had made a significant contribution to Turkey's recent technological progress, but that he had not been able to visit its factories at that time. Noting that Vestel is among the brands investing the most in technology in Turkey, Işık said that this made them proud.
Expressing his belief that Vestel will become one of the most important brands in the world, not only in the field of white goods and televisions, but also in the field of advanced technology, Minister Işık said that as the government, they will always support Vestel in this endeavor. Işık said that with Vestel and companies like it, Turkey will take its rightful place in the global technology race.
