Within the framework of the technical assistance program for developing and underdeveloped countries in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Turkish Cooperation and Development Administration (TIKA), TUBITAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and UNIDO, a workshop and training program on "Fruit Juice Processing Technologies: Feasibility, Production and Quality Control" on 17-21 June 2013. The aim of the program is to inform the participants on fruit juice processing technologies, to share experiences on the subject, to contribute to the development of the fruit juice processing industry in their countries by improving cooperation between the participants and Turkey. The participating countries are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethopia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan (2), Mongolia, Moldova, Niger, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Yemen and Turkey (3). Turkish participants were from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and Istanbul Technical University.

 

The program included theoretical trainings on fruit juice processing technologies, country presentations, technical company visits, cultural visits, opening and closing ceremony. In addition to TÜBİTAK MAM researchers, trainers from universities and private sector participated in the program. At the end of the program, the participants stated that the program was very useful for their countries and that the programs should continue.
