[1] The E1000 Type Locomotive Development Project (TARAL-1007) aims to develop and prototype an electric locomotive with 1 MW traction power with a modern AC drive system to meet the maneuvering and short distance freight transportation needs of TCDD. With the project to be completed in 2014, it will be possible to domestically design, develop and manufacture rail vehicle driving and control systems such as traction converters, traction control units and central control units, which are among the components with the highest added value in the rail vehicle sector and which only developed countries in the world have.
