A 3-member delegation consisting of Prof. Dr. Colin B. GRANT, Vice Rector of BATH University and Prof. Dr. D. BIRD and Prof. Dr. G. HAWLEY, Deans of Science and Engineering Departments visited TÜBİTAK MAM on 28 November 2014 within the framework of the attached program. The meeting was held in the presence of TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat MAKARACI, Institute of Materials Deputy Director Dr. İbrahim BEKAR, Institute of Environment and Clean Production Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun KARAN, Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Deputy Director Dr. Mustafa Naci YAZICIOĞLU and Institute of Energy Deputy Director Dr. Osman OKUR. Osman OKUR, the meeting started with the opening speech made by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat MAKARACI, Vice President of TÜBİTAK MAM, and after the mutual acquaintance, general information about our Center was conveyed to the delegation and TÜBİTAK MAM was introduced. General information was given verbally by BATH University officials. After the meeting, sol-gel, electron microscopy, laser spectroscopy laboratories at the Institute of Materials, water-wastewater, solid waste, marine research laboratories at the Institute of Environment and Clean Production, immunogenetics, enzyme and microorganism genetics, advanced genome and bioinformatics, diagnostic technology laboratories at the Institute of Gene Engineering and Biotechnology, battery, vehicle, combustion, gasification laboratories at the Institute of Energy were visited and detailed information about the studies carried out was given to the delegation by the experts.

The visit was useful in terms of introducing our Center in general and exchanging information about the work carried out. Both Horizon2020 and opportunities for bilateral R&D project collaborations, especially on vehicle technologies, were discussed. The delegation left our Center with positive impressions.
