With the web application developed within the scope of the "Project on Determination of Bathing Water Profiles in Turkey's Coasts" carried out by the Environment and Clean Production Institute of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, it will be possible to get information about the condition of beaches over the internet.

The protection of the natural characteristics of our uniquely beautiful coastal and marine waters is not only important for sustainable economic development, but also for the protection of world heritage. In this project, bathing water beach profiles of 1112 defined beaches on the coasts of Turkey were prepared by determining the pollution sources that may adversely affect bathing water and human health, determining the causes of pollution, measures to be taken and pollution monitoring program. Within the scope of the project, a web application was developed for swimming water beach profile information. This application is also a multi-user GIS (Geographical Information System) application, where all the information in the database is displayed on a geo-referenced applicable map and a detailed bathing water profile map layer is prepared. http://turkiyeplajlari.cevre.gov.tr/ address for easy access to information.

The project aims to determine the characteristics of our bathing water areas in accordance with the new EU "Bathing Water Quality Regulation" (2006/7/EC) in the European Union harmonization process, to determine and classify coastal dynamics and water quality, and as a result, to determine the necessary measures to be taken to achieve good bathing water quality.
