TÜBİTAK left its mark on Turkey's science and technology scene with a tremendous participation in TEKNOFEST Izmir. Bringing innovation and technology together, TEKNOFEST Izmir brought an unforgettable energy.
Organized at Çiğli Airport, the five-day festival welcomed thousands of curious visitors in the fields of aviation, space and technology.
TÜBİTAK's tent was the center of attention with its interactive and information-packed activities. Attracting a wide audience, from young people to adults, TÜBİTAK's booth opened its doors to those who want to explore the exciting world of science and technology.
Among the events organized at the TÜBİTAK MAM stand at the festival:
Application of Different Materials under the Microscope: This activity, which involved the detailed examination of various materials and different tissue cells under the microscope, offered visitors the opportunity to discover the mysteries of the microscopic world.
Yogurt Bacteria and Some Molds Isolated from Foods Under the Microscope: The study of yogurt bacteria and molds isolated from foods under the microscope aimed to raise awareness about the world of microorganisms.
Experiments with Liquid Nitrogen and Potassium Chlorate - Sugar Reaction: This activity, which demonstrated the unusual properties of liquid nitrogen, gave participants the chance to experience interesting aspects of chemistry. Experimentally demonstrating the reactions of sugar in the body and explaining the various disorders caused by excess sugar in the body, this experiment allowed us to see the consequences of many of our habits.
Hydrogen Value Chain Demonstration: Awareness raising activities were carried out on sustainable energy production, green hydrogen production and carbon footprint reduction.
Noise Barrier: Aiming to explore ways to reduce the impact of environmental noise on people in cities, this event aimed to raise awareness on noise management.
Polar Mascots (Albatross, Whale, Polar Bear, Penguin): Providing information about the unique ecosystems of the polar regions through different polar mascots, this activity aimed to raise environmental awareness.
Carbon Footprint Measurement: This activity aimed to raise awareness about the impact of human activities on climate change by measuring individuals' carbon footprints.
CO2 Sources and Sinks: It was aimed to raise awareness about climate change by observing the sources and sinks that cause carbon dioxide, an important greenhouse gas, to accumulate in the atmosphere through the experimental setup.
In addition to the exciting TÜBİTAK MAM events, expert researchers presented "Hydrogen Technologies and Green Transformation", "Climate Change and Cities" in the fields of Environment, Energy and Climate Technologies, "Innovative Food Technologies for Healthy and Quality Life", "The Importance and Future of Biotechnological Pharmaceuticals" in the fields of Health and Wellness Technologies. The presentations provided visitors with the opportunity to understand the latest developments in the sector and predict future technological innovations.
These impressive activities at the TÜBİTAK MAM booth provided science and technology enthusiasts with an interactive learning experience.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Deputy Ministers Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil and Zekeriya Çoştu visited TÜBİTAK's booth and personally participated in these impressive events that will inspire the future leaders of science and technology. With the participation of TÜBİTAK, TEKNOFEST Izmir brought the fun and discovery-filled world of science to a wide audience.
