TÜBİTAK MAM CORNET Project 2nd User Committee Meeting was Held

TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and Fraunhofer Institute (Fraunhofer IMWS) and German Plastics Center (SKZ) met with the user committee on July 21, 2023 to convey the developments in the project "Process Development for the Production of Bio-based Two-Component Epoxy Resin from Renewable Raw Materials" within the scope of Networking of National and Regional Community Research Programs (CORNET).

The project has user committees consisting of research partners, umbrella organizations and implementers from both countries. On the Turkish side, the project is jointly carried out by TÜBİTAK MAM Climate Change and Sustainability Vice Presidency and Life Sciences Vice Presidency, with Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) as the umbrella organization and Amazon Wooden, Bayrak Group, Dempar Parquet, Okuyan, Dastaş, Anadolu Etap and Beytek Engineering as the user committee.

Within the scope of the meeting, information about the work carried out in the project was shared. In this direction, the environmental impacts and problems caused by the resins used in current applications, obtaining and characterization of raw materials used in bio-based resins, extraction, kiletici characterization, purification studies of citrus oils and life cycle analysis for environmental impact assessment, and developments in the production of bio-based epoxy resin systems and formulations carried out by Fraunhofer IMWS and SKZ, the German research partners of the project, were presented.
