"TÜBİTAK - SAS Workshop" was held at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus

On November 21, 2022, TÜBİTAK-SAS (Slovak Academy of Sciences) Workshop organized by TÜBİTAK International Cooperation Department and TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) was held at Gebze Campus.

In addition to SAS officials and researchers; managers and researchers from TÜBİTAK, TÜBİTAK MAM, TÜBİTAK UME and TÜBİTAK RUTE participated in the workshop.

The event started with the opening speech and presentation of Prof. Dr. Ahmet YOZGATLIGIL, Vice President of TÜBİTAK and President of TÜBİTAK MAM, and continued with the opening speech of Dr. Zuzana Panczová, Vice President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

The Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Istanbul, Mr. Michal Lánik, then delivered the opening speech. Then, Zuzana Panisová from the Department of International Cooperation of the Slovak Academy of Sciences gave information about the structure and activities of SAS.

Following the opening speeches and presentations, project ideas to increase academic cooperation between Turkey and Slovakia were discussed and presentations were made in 3 different thematic sessions. During the thematic sessions, researchers suggested areas where joint cooperation and projects can be developed in order to be utilized in the planning of the TÜBİTAK - SAS Joint Project Call, which is expected to be opened in 2023.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Ahmet YOZGATLIGIL, Vice President of TÜBİTAK and President of MAM and Dr. Zuzana Panczová, Vice President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences signed a "Joint Declaration of Intent" for the continuation and development of cooperation activities. signed. Following the signing ceremony, the Workshop was successfully concluded with closing speeches.
