Using the know-how obtained within the scope of the DINÇ Project carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), superalloy materials were alloyed and cast as ingots in the VIM (Vacuum Induction Melting) system at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center. The ingots were then pulverized using the VIGA (Vacuum Induction Gas Atomization) system installed at Sentes-BIR.
The nickel superalloy powders produced will be used especially in the production of aerospace parts and turbine engine parts with additive manufacturing methods, aiming to reduce our foreign dependency.
Considered as one of the innovations that constitute Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing methods enable complex-shaped parts with low quantity requirements or customized productions to be realized quickly and more cost-effectively, unlike traditional production methods such as casting and machining. Thanks to these advantages, the use of additive manufacturing methods has rapidly gained widespread use, especially in the medical, aerospace and aerospace fields.
TÜBİTAK MAM - In addition to different superalloy powders, the Sentes-BİR partnership aims to develop MCrAlY thermal spray powders for high temperature protection of gas turbine engines.
