TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Earth and Marine Sciences National 1 MV Accelerated Mass Spectroscopy Laboratory and Industrial Services Unit officials took part in the 39th International Symposium on Excavation, Research and Archaeometry between 22-24 May 2017.
At the event held in Bursa, the Carbon-14 analysis laboratory, which was established as a first for our country and our region, was introduced. At the promotional stand in the fair area, one-to-one meetings were held with the heads of archaeological excavations in our country and detailed information was provided about the services and processes offered in Carbon 14 dating with the established laboratory infrastructure.
In addition, Prof. Peter Kuniholm, one of the world's most influential researchers in the field of dendrochronology, provided detailed information about his work in Turkey. In addition, in the post-symposium meetings with Dr. Greg Hodgins, Director of the AMS Laboratory at the University of Arizona, USA, one of the most well-known institutions in the field of Carbon 14 dating, areas of joint work with our Center were evaluated.
