In line with the National Nanotechnology R&D and Innovation Strategy Document and Action Plan (2015-2019) of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, the Nanotechnology Cluster was officially established by signing the Nanotechnology Cluster Cooperation Protocol under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM in January 2017 in order to produce products and develop processes that will increase the added value in our country in the defense-aviation, energy, electronics, automotive, textile, health, construction sectors by developing public-university-industry cooperation in the field of nanotechnology.

The third post-protocol meeting of the Nanotechnology Cluster was held on June 1, 2017 at TÜBİTAK MAM to discuss the Nanotechnology Cluster project proposal, which includes the R&D cooperation project proposals on nanotechnology and the training-conference-workshop-promotion work plan prepared by the organizations in the Nanotechnology Cluster to be applied to the 3rd Call for Cluster Support Program of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in August 2017. It was emphasized that if the Nanotechnology Cluster project proposal is supported, the technical infrastructure in the field of nanotechnology in our country can be strengthened, the need for trained personnel can be met and thus products that will increase the added value in our country can be produced.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Nanotechnology Cluster participant companies, universities, chambers of industry and TÜBİTAK MAM Institutes.

During the meeting, the needs of the companies in the cluster on nanotechnology, as well as the work of universities and R&D centers that can meet these needs of the industry, were presented by the representatives of the participating organizations. The importance of public-university-industry cooperation was emphasized again in this context. The support programs that the Nanotechnology Cluster can apply for were introduced by TÜBİTAK MAM. It was stated that the Nanotechnology Cluster will establish a Graduate Student Training Program in Nanotechnology. Nanotechnology Cluster will host the Panel on the Impact of Nanotechnology on Different Sectors and Commercialization of Nanomaterials within the scope of the NanoTR13 conference to be held on October 22-25, 2017. In order to form a consortium to apply for the UFUK2020 Nanotechnology Area 2018-2020 calls, representatives of the participating organizations of the Nanotechnology Cluster will attend the EuroNanoForum 2017 event to be held in Malta on 19-21 June 2017.
