TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), one of the leading actors of digital transformation in the field of energy, took part in the "Digitalization in Hydropower 2025" expert event held in Istanbul and Adana between 15-17 October 2025 in cooperation with Enerjisa Üretim and vgbe energy e.V. and hosted by Enerjisa Üretim.
In the presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence Applications in Hydropower" made by Mehmet Akif Bütüner from my TÜBİTAK MAM Renewable Energy Research Group, machine learning based anomaly detection approaches in hydroelectric power plants were introduced. In this study, it was emphasized that artificial intelligence-supported models developed for early detection of faults that may occur in power plant equipment provide higher accuracy and flexibility compared to traditional fixed threshold systems.
