TUBITAK Marmara Research Center Food Institute (GE) will hold "Training on the Evaluation of Spectroscopic (Raman and FT-IR) Data Obtained within the scope of Halal Food with Chemometric Methods" on September 24-25, 2019.

Within the scope of the project titled "Development, Implementation and Dissemination of Fast, Economic and Practical Detection Methods for the Source of Gelatin, Glutamate and L-Cysteine in Halal Food Inspection" with the code 115O065, supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1003 programs, the "Development of Spectroscopic Methods" work package was completed. Within this work package, FT-IR and Raman Spectroscopy techniques were used to determine the origin of the food additive "Gelatin". Chemometric software developed by IZTECH faculty member Prof. Dr. Durmuş Özdemir and his team was used for the evaluation of the spectroscopic data obtained.

On the 1st day of the training, Prof. Dr. Durmuş Özdemir will give information about the basic topics of chemometrics. On the 2nd day of the training, information will be shared on the chemometric evaluation of the spectroscopic data obtained within the scope of the Halal food project.

A free training is organized for private and public laboratory personnel interested in the subject. 10-12 participants will be accepted to the training program. Those who will be accepted to the program will be notified on 20 September 2019.
