TEİAŞ commissioned the Protection Information System KBS, where it can store the inventory information of the protection equipment actively used in the transmission network and both current and historical setting values of relays.
Thanks to the Protection Information System (KBS), which is one of the important achievements of the TEİAŞ Transmission System Framework Program Project, which is being carried out with the TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute, computer-aided fault analysis will be possible with current relay setting values.
Within the scope of the project, the protection relays in the Turkish transmission network, together with current and voltage transformers, were computerized and used in protection analysis. KBS works interactively with the Load Dispatch Information System (LDS), another important achievement of the TEİAŞ Transmission System Framework Program Project, and is able to retrieve both current and historical network topology. The ability of KBS to keep inventory and setting values retrospectively enables TEİAŞ to perform retrospective network analysis through the connection established with YTBS. Thanks to the new tools developed, it is easier to monitor the compliance of the current setting values of relays with TEİAŞ protection philosophy depending on the changes in the network. KBS can also prepare network analysis reports.
The first of the trainings for the field personnel of TEİAŞ Protection Systems Directorate who will use the developed Protection Information System was given by the TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute project team at Sakarya Training Facilities between October 17-21, 2016. The second training was held between November 21-25, 2016 and the third training is planned to be held between December 19-23, 2016.
