Technology Transfer for the Production of Smoke and Tear Ammunition Pharmaceuticals for Intervention in Social Events

TÜBİTAK MAM The production and sales rights of the "Smoke Ammunition and Tear Gas Ammunition Pharmacy Production Technologies Made with CS Compound", whose production technology was developed by the Institute of Chemical Technology (KTE) within the scope of the TÜBİTAK KAMAG 1007 supported project titled "Development of TOMAG-Gas Ammunition for the Purpose of Intervention in Social Events" with the number 110G072, were transferred to İdeal Av Spor Turizm İmalat Sanayi ve Tic. Ltd. Şti.

The license agreement was signed on 19 September 2016 with the participation of TÜBİTAK MAM President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahadır Tunaboylu and Cemil Eryürek, General Manager of İdeal Av.

When these products, which are imported from abroad, start to be produced in our country, they will provide at least 2,000,000 USD of added value to our country, shorten the procurement times of gas ammunition and avoid problems in case of urgent need.

In addition, toxicity tests of gas munitions used in the market were conducted in various laboratories in Turkey and abroad to determine their toxic effects. The acute eye irritation test (OECD 405) conducted in the United States revealed that the imported munitions currently in use have a permanent effect on the eyes, whereas the munitions developed within the scope of the project were found to be temporarily effective and did not have a permanent effect on the eyes.
