The six days of TEKNOFEST, the World's Largest Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, ended with a spectacular closing ceremony. This year, TEKNOFEST KARADENIZ hosted more than 1 million 250 thousand people in total.

TEKNOFEST provided unforgettable moments to the Black Sea people with a program full of technology, science, aviation-flight shows, exhibitions, summits, workshops, stage shows, concerts and events for 6 days.

The 2022 TEKNOFEST Biotechnology Innovation Competition, organized by TÜBİTAK MAM, was held at Trabzon Akyazı Stadium between August 5-7. A total of 3592 applications were received for the Biotechnology Innovation Competition this year, with the number of applications increasing every year. Hundreds of students at high school, university and graduate level formed their teams in the idea and project categories and shared the excitement of the competition.

In addition to the winners of the Biotechnology Innovation Competition, two teams received the TÜBİTAK MAM Special Jury Award. As part of the TÜBİTAK MAM Special Jury Award, students had the opportunity to examine the work and infrastructures at MAM over a one-week period.

The GİFACUP team, which was established by Bursa Technical University students, closely observed the work in the infrastructure and trial reactions related to cellulose production, Polymer Group infrastructure and trial tests, 3D infrastructure and trial tests, Medical Biotechnology Group and Food Innovation Technologies Group for 1 week.

Expressing her views on the trip, team captain İrem AYBEYAZ said, "When we came here, we had the opportunity to visit everywhere. The first two days we were in the Chemistry department, then we went to the Materials and Food department. We saw the work done here, and this way our ideas developed even more. Our professors did not spare anything from us here, we are very happy about that. We got detailed information about all the projects and then we had the opportunity to get to know all the devices used. The devices were explained in detail. At school, of course, these were explained to us as lectures, but they remained in the theoretical dimension. Here we learned the working mechanism of all of them and thought about how we could integrate them into our project. It was very useful both for our project and for our own development within a week. A week may seem like a very short time, but we spent the week very full, so it was very productive. We received all the training that could fit in a month in one week." He used his expressions.

The competitors thanked Mr. Hasan MANDAL, President of TUBITAK and Mr. Ahmet YOZGATLIGIL, Vice President of TUBITAK and President of TÜBİTAK MAM for the award.
