The Parliamentary Investigation Commission, which was established to determine the problems encountered during the protection, production and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plant diversity and the measures to be taken, convened under the chairmanship of Antalya Deputy İbrahim Aydın.
Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Vice President Assoc. Dr. Murat Makaracı, Director of the Institute of Chemical Technology Dr. Osman Okur and employees of the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Product Center of Excellence also attended the Commission Meeting, where a presentation was made.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK MAM, stated that industrialization in Turkey has been determined as a policy that will affect social welfare, that the industrial product and the gross national product overlap with each other and that Turkey has to increase its added value for "Turkey's social welfare", that our production category is in medium-low technology and since this is a production style that is similar to China and India, Turkey needs to do R&D to get out of here quickly. Subsequently, he said that as TÜBİTAK MAM, he is trying to carry out R&D in Turkey with a thousand employees and we want to transform Turkey's values in terms of herbal products into added value. For this, he stated that our joint work with each institution and organization continues."
