The inaugural meeting of the Project on Ensuring Standardization in Marine Monitoring was held on 27 October 2015 at TÜBİTAK Presidency Mustafa İnan Conference Hall.
Officials from TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM), Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Coast Guard Command, Karadeniz Technical University, Dokuz Eylül University, Istanbul University, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Çanakkale On Sekiz Mart University, Sinop University, Mineral Research and Exploration and Turkish Atomic Energy Authority participated in the meeting.
The meeting started with the opening speeches of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun KARAN, Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute and Mustafa SATILMIŞ, General Director of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit and Inspection of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. TÜBİTAK MAM project coordinator Ersan KUZYAKA introduced the project and Project General Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çolpan BEKEN made a presentation on "Assessment of the Current Monitoring Status in the Seas". Black Sea Coordinator Prof. Dr. Fatma TELLİ KARAKOÇ, Aegean and Mediterranean Coordinator Filiz KÜÇÜKSEZGİN and Marmara Sea and Straits Coordinator Hüsne ALTIOK gave presentations on the studies carried out in our seas.
