Sivas Cumhuriyet University CIGRE Student Club's founding event and "Engineering Career in the Energy Transformation Process" Panel were attended.
On February 21, 2025, the Inaugural Event of the CIGRE Student Club and the "Engineering Careers in the Energy Transformation Process" panel were held at Sivas Cumhuriyet University. The event was opened with the speeches of EÜAŞ General Manager Zafer Benli and Sivas Cumhuriyet University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şengönül.
Following the opening ceremony, the future of the energy sector and engineering careers were discussed in the panel moderated by Prof. Dr. Hülya Doğan, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr. Sinan Eren from TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Technologies, EMO Representative Ömer Taşkın, ÇEDAŞ Human Resources Manager Abdulbari Aslan and Dr. Erdi Doğan from EPRA Energy took part in the panel as speakers.
During the panel, young engineer candidates were informed about the significant changes in the energy sector, the roles engineers will assume in this transformation process and the competencies needed to achieve Turkey's 2050 targets. In addition, career opportunities in the sector were introduced through innovative projects carried out by TÜBİTAK MAM in the field of Electrical Power Technologies.
This event, which raised awareness about the energy transition process and guided young engineer candidates, attracted great interest from the participants.
